Diving with the Bull Sharks
FROM PLAYA DEL CARMEN
From november till March
1 dive - 2 hours trip
Who has never dreamed of coming across one of those sharks during a dive?
Well, with Phocea Mexico it is possible every year, from November to March.
During the season, Phocea Mexico organizes every day at the beginning of the afternoon, one exit to admire them.
This dive is set on a sandy bottom around 65 feet deep, where you just have to wait a few minutes to see them appearing. As they are very curious animals, they will certainly approach you at less than 6 feet.
The Bull Shark or Zambezi Shark (Carcharhinus leucas) is not bigger than 12 feet. Its back is grey or olive brown and the extremity of its fins are a little bit darker.
Its belly is off-white. It holds its name of its massive, squat, heavy and strong appearance and its flattened and short snout.
You will never forget this feeling of having dived among more than 20 Bull Sharks: 100% adrenalin!
