Sierra de la Laguna
FROM PHOCÉA LA PAZ
UNESCO named Sierra de la Laguna as a world protected biosphere. At the end of the peninsula you can find Sierra de la Laguna, it was once an island and it has some flora and fauna similar to that in the south of Mexico. The mountain houses a great number of species and sub species endemic to the area.
The San Lucan xeric scrub elevates up to 250m above the sea level. The dry forest of the Sierra de la Laguna occupies the lowest part of the chain. This park houses numerous and very diverse mammals: deer, coyotes, hare, cougars, gray fox….
